Voice, concrete poetry. (14 min) 2020-2021
“Slippery Mayo” is an associative piece of writing and the final part of the performance “L&I (thought experiments)”, performed in October 2020 in Outo Olo, Helsinki, in conversation by the Finnish curatorial duo Hello Dust.
“Slippery Mayo” was spoken before having been noted on paper. It could be considered a monologue, since it is recited by a single person. It could as well be intended as an inner dialogue between two voices living in the same body. The text uses free associations, repetition and absurdity to guide the reader through a wild voyage, stumbling upon swimming pools, fragile bones and club sandwiches.
